Professional Service and Responsibilities
As a Deputy County Administrator for Chesterfield County Government, Clay Bowles oversees the departments of:
- Chesterfield County Public Libraries
- Cooperative Extension (Parks and Recreation)
- General Services
- Information Systems Technology
- Parks and Recreation
- Risk Management
Bowles also serves as liaison to the offices of the Circuit Court Clerk, Commonwealth's Attorney and Sheriff's Office. Prior to being appointed Deputy County Administrator, he most recently served as director of General Services. From 1999 to 2014, Bowles served as the assistant director of General Services and the chief of administration for the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office.
