The Chesterfield Council on Aging seeks to enhance the quality of life for older adults and adults with disabilities through education, advocacy and community service.
Meetings include a speaker on topics relevant to older adults, as well as reports from Council committees and activities.
THIS MONTH'S SPEAKER: Honorflight Network
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. Dana Rivera, Director of Social Services at Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, will present the details of this program.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Chesterfield Domestic Violence Task Force is sponsoring a training on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2-4 p.m., that explores the connection between domestic violence and strangulation. For more information contact Lindsay Cassada.
Who should register? Advocates, concerned citizens, health professionals and law enforcement.
