VICAP is part of a national network of programs that offer FREE, unbiased, confidential counseling and assistance for people with Medicare. Linda Barnhart, a volunteer with the State VICAP office at DARS, will present on the features of this program and how to access its services.

THIS MONTH: Carfit Safety Clinic
Designed for persons 50 years of age and older, CarFit has trained professionals and volunteers who take a driver through a free, 20-minute, 12-point checklist with their vehicle and recommend vehicle adjustments and adaptations that could make your car “fit” better and enhance safety. Learn ways for drivers to adapt to their cars, and adjust their “fit” within them, in order to reduce the risk of injury
during a crash. Car Seat placement checks will also be available.

Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. Dana Rivera, Director of Social Services at Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, will present the details of this program.
