THIS MONTH: When Words Fail: Practical Ministry to People with Dementia and their Caregivers. The Rev. Kathy Berry, Chaplain at Westminster Canterbury of Richmond, will discuss ways in which caregivers, through one-on-one interaction, can communicate with and provide spiritual care for people in different stages of dementia.

This year’s Veteran’s Day event will mark the 100th anniversary
of the end of World War I with the signing of the armistice on the 11th month, the 11th day, on the 11th hour that ended hostilities. This commemoration will include living history displays, musical performances, presentation of banners and wreaths, honoring WWI Veterans, unveiling of a new interpretive sign on the Courthouse Green and opening of a new changing exhibit focusing on Chesterfield County’s role in the Great War at the Chesterfield Museum and 1892 Historic Jail.

Join us as we explore ways to support siblings, parents, and others who are
the primary caregivers of persons living with a serious illness. We will dive
into recognizing certain safety and health warning signs while visiting aging
relatives and how to effectively communicate with other family members
about those concerns.

THIS MONTH: Chesterfield County Public Libraries provide an amazing array of programs, resources and services to Chesterfield citizens and are absolutely free. A librarian from CCPL will provide an overview of these programs and highlight areas of interest to Chesterfield seniors.
