CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police have arrested a third suspect in connection to the murder of Adel M. Elmadany who was found dead inside Three Amigos Auto Sales, 108 Turner Road, on Jan. 24, 2015.
Police responded just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 24, 2015, for a report that a man, later identified as Elmadany, 60, had been found dead in the business. Elmadany, of the 7500 block of Ander Court, was the owner of the business.
In February 2015, Chesterfield police, with assistance from several local, state and federal law enforcement partners, arrested two men and obtained a warrant for a third in relation to the incident. Melvin Leonel Sandoval Vasquez, 24, and Narciso De Jesus Lemus Mendoza, 25, were arrested in Washington, D.C., and the City of Manassas, Va., respectively.
Sandoval Vasquez, of the 1800 block of Good Hope Road in Washington, D.C., was charged with conspiring to willfully, deliberately, and with premeditation kill and murder Adel Elmadany in the first degree. Lemus Mendoza, of the 8300 block of Georgian Court in Manassas, Va., was charged with conspiring to willfully, deliberately, and with premeditation kill and murder Adel Elmadany, with the killing being for hire.
Also in February 2015, police obtained a warrant for Chaudhary Arshad Mahmood, who is now 60, in relation to the incident for conspiring to willfully, deliberately, and with premeditation kill and murder Adel Elmadany, with the killing being for hire. Since 2015, police have actively sought Mahmood, a Pakistani national whose last known place of residence was in Prince William County, Va.
On Sept. 30, 2019, the FBI, working in collaboration with Chesterfield County Police and with the assistance of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Federal Air Marshal Service, took Mahmood into custody at Dulles International Airport. Mahmood is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
