CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have obtained a warrant for and are seeking a burglary suspect.
At about 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 23, police were called to a residence in the 2500 block of Lancers Boulevard for a reported burglary. The investigation indicates that an unknown male rang the doorbell several times before going into the back yard. He then kicked in the back door and entered the house.
A juvenile female, who was inside the residence, saw the man behaving suspiciously outside the house and called police. Officers arrived shortly after he forced entry to the house, and the suspect fled without taking anything.
Through investigation, police have identified the suspect as Leroy S. Jones Jr., 54. Police obtained a warrant for Jones, of no known address, for breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony in relation to the incident.
