Chesterfield Dedicates Street in Honor of Fallen Soldier

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Today, Chesterfield County dedicated a street in honor of Major Charles A. Ransom, United States Air Force, at Midlothian High School.

Major Charles A. Ransom, United States Air Force, was killed on or about April 27, 2011 in Kabul, Afghanistan, while participating in Operation Enduring Freedom. Major Ransom, a highly dedicated officer whose many awards include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal, was a 1997 graduate of Midlothian High School.

The street, in honor of Major Ransom, is named Charles A. Ransom Way.

Major Ransom was included on the Chesterfield County Veteran’s Memorial Wall in 2011 as well as the Virginia War Memorial. On Veteran’s Day 2015, Midlothian High School dedicated a war memorial in honor of Major Ransom.
