Summer is here, which means it’s time to get out and explore the great things happening at your local parks and recreation centers. This July explore all the fun activities offered by Chesterfield Parks and Recreation in celebration of Park and Recreation Month. This year’s theme is Game On, which encourages citizens to get outside and play. There are plenty of ways to celebrate during this month-long celebration and the county’s Parks and Recreation Program Guide is a great resource.
“Park and Recreation Month is a great time for us to highlight all the programs, parks and historic sites in Chesterfield,” said Dr. James Worsley, Chesterfield County parks and recreation director. “Our department prides itself on offering a variety of programs, events and activities for citizens of all ages and abilities. From kayaking to camps to history and fitness, there are plenty of ways our citizens can get in the game and join in on the celebration this July.”
Park and Recreation Month is an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation services have on the community. NRPA encourages people to share how they are celebrating with the hashtag #GameOnJuly.
