CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Spring may have just started, but soon we’ll be “Walking on Sunshine” and searching for “Good Times” to cure the “Summertime Blues.” Well, “Shake It Off” and prepare to “Move Your Feet” to the sounds of Chesterfield LIVE!, a brand new music festival, coming Saturday, May 25 to the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, located at 10300 Courthouse Road.
This free, family-friendly event hosted by Chesterfield County, in partnership with the Richmond Symphony and the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, will feature four musical acts, including Fort Lee’s 392nd Rock Band, RVA’s own Dance Candy, the Richmond Symphony, and 80’s cover band The Deloreans. All performances will take place under the Symphony’s iconic “Big Tent.”
Keeping the crowd entertained during set changes and serving as this year’s festival hosts are well-known Richmond DJ Lonnie B and Coffee with Strangers host Kelli Lemon.
“The Richmond Symphony is thrilled to return to Chesterfield with our Big Tent for the Chesterfield LIVE! Music Festival in May!” said Executive Director David Fisk. “The Symphony looks forward to partnering with Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation and the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce to host this family-friendly event in a community we share.”
In addition to musical entertainment, there will be a children’s play area with inflatables, local vendors, a variety of local food trucks and Chesterfield’s own, Steam Bell Beer Works, will be pouring local brews for purchase. Bring your family, friends and coworkers to kick off the summer in Chesterfield.
“Chesterfield LIVE! is an opportunity to showcase our region and collaborate with community partners for enjoyment, entertainment and fun,” said Danielle Fitz-Hugh, president and CEO of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. “There’s no better reason for our Chamber to be involved.”
“We are very excited to be cohosting this new music festival in Chesterfield County,” said Dr. James Worsley, Chesterfield parks and recreation director. “When like-minded community partners work together, great things like this can happen. This is an event our citizens most certainly will enjoy.”
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. No pets, outside food or drinks or glassware will be allowed. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended. Visit www.ChesterfieldLIVE.org for more information.
