CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Christopher Meade, CPA and senior auditor with Chesterfield County’s Department of Internal Audit, recently earned the Certified Government Auditing Professional, or CGAP, credential from the Institute of Internal Auditors. The institute is an international professional association of more than 190,000 members and is recognized in the internal audit profession as a leader in certification, education, research and technical guidance throughout the world.
“I appreciate Chris’ commitment to the profession and making the effort to continue growing his skills,” said Greg Akers, internal audit director. “His attainment of the CGAP credential compliments and strengthens our team.”
The Chesterfield County Department of Internal Audit’s mission is to provide objective analysis and information to management and those charged with governance. This helps to provide residents an efficient, customer-oriented government with the highest ethics and integrity. Meade’s new credentials add to the many professional credentials held by Internal Audit’s 10-member team, which include four certified public accountants, a certified internal auditor, a certified information system auditor, three certified fraud examiners, and a chartered global management accountant.
