The ongoing work to widen Route 10 in Chesterfield County has reached a new milestone this week.
The Route 10 Widening Project flipped the switch on new traffic signal activation at the intersection of Route 10 and Meadowville Road. It began in flash mode the evening of Monday, October 23 and then converted to full operation on the evening of Wednesday, October 25. The project is part of an ongoing effort to create the county’s first SuperStreet concept, allowing for more flow and less congestion.
The work being done on the project will widen Route 10 between Bermuda Triangle Road and Meadowville Road to eight lanes, with signalized improvements to the intersection of Route 10 at Meadowville Road, a new traffic signal at Rivers Bend Boulevard and Meadowville Road and widening Meadowville Road from Route 10 to Hogan's Alley to six lanes.
The activation at Route 10 and Meadowville Road is comprised of three separate signals that coordinate as one. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work zone.
