Chesterfield County General Registrar's Office

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Chesterfield County residents will have the opportunity to learn about the election process and what is involved to conduct county elections. The Chesterfield Registrar’s Office and the Chesterfield County Electoral Board will be present to meet with residents to discuss what it takes to run an election in Chesterfield, the measures taken to ensure the integrity and transparency of county elections and how to become an Officer of Election.

The Registrar’s Office and county Electoral Board is hosting its first-ever “Understanding the Election Process in Chesterfield County: It’s More Than Just Election Day” informational sessions on Wednesday, Sept.13, at the Central Library at 7051 Lucy Corr Blvd, Chesterfield, Va. 23832.

There will be two sessions for Chesterfield voters:

  • Session 1: 10 a.m.
  • Session 2: 6:30 p.m.

Seating during both sessions is limited.

Following a short presentation, members of the Chesterfield Registrar’s Office and the Chesterfield Electoral Board will be available to meet with residents and address questions about the local election process.

“These are informational sessions designed for residents of Chesterfield County.” said Missy Vera, general registrar. “With early voting for the General Election just weeks away, we want to give our residents the opportunity to learn more about the election process and provide information to current and new voters to the county.”

Aside from learning about the election process, Chesterfield residents will have the opportunity to register to vote, request absentee ballots for the upcoming November General Election and receive information about a new resource, the Political District Map Viewer, found on the county’s website.

Early voting for the November General Election begins Sept. 22 at the Registrar’s Office and October 23 at designated satellite locations. Election Day is Nov. 7.
