Feb. 15 Community Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Potential Moseley Elementary Pedestrian Connector

Board of Supervisors

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Matoaca District Supervisor Kevin Carroll will host a community meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Moseley Elementary School to discuss a potential pedestrian bridge and trail connection from Jones Run Lane and Jones Run Trail to the school.

Moseley Elementary is located at 7100 Magnolia Green Parkway. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Chesterfield Parks and Recreation’s current concept plan proposes construction of a 6-foot-wide paved path that would connect to an existing sidewalk along Jones Run Trail, cross a creek on school property via pedestrian bridge and terminate near the front of the building. A teacher would be assigned to greet students at that location and escort them into the school.

The project would be intended to enhance pedestrian access to Moseley Elementary for families who live nearby and would like for their children to have the option of walking to school.

Supervisor Carroll encourages citizens to attend the community meeting and provide feedback about the project. You can also offer input virtually by completing a survey at https://tinyurl.com/5n6j4jsu.
