On Thursday, Oct. 13, Matoaca District Supervisor Kevin Carroll hosted a community meeting to solicit feedback on an initial concept for the adaptive reuse of the old Matoaca Elementary School building and surrounding grounds. The 11-acre facility and property ceased operations in 2021 and was vacated by Chesterfield County Public Schools in spring of 2022.
During the community meeting, Community Enhancement staff member and housing specialist Nicholas Feucht showed attendees several examples of repurposed school buildings from across the Commonwealth and answered questions from the public.
