CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on 3rd Avenue adjacent to the Virginia State University Campus on October 14, 2018 at about 1:55 a.m.
Officers responded for the report of shots fired at the above address. Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim is currently in stable condition.
Two groups were at an event at Daniels Gym on the VSU Campus. There was some sort of altercation at the event. The victim’s group stayed at the event. The other group left prior to the event ending. The suspects then observed the victim’s group on 3rd Avenue off of the campus. The suspect or suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The suspect or suspects fled prior to officers arriving on scene. The attached photos show a vehicle and persons of interest.
