CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested a suspect in relation to an attempt robbery that occurred at the Target, at 2530 Weir Road at about 9:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 3.
Police said a male suspect approached a female in the parking lot demanded money and then assaulted her. The suspect fled on foot from the area. Several hours later, an officer was conducting a patrol at a shopping center close to where the original offense took place. While conducting the patrol, they encountered a male matching the description of the attempt robbery suspect.
Police officers arrested the suspect, Thomas M. Bartlett, 43, of Shackleford, VA. He was taken into custody and was transported to the Chesterfield County Jail where he was charged with the attempt robbery, abduction and malicious wounding.
He is currently being held without bond.
