CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — The Chesterfield County Department of Communications and Media took home six honors in the 16th Annual Hermes Creative Awards, which were announced recently.
Among the 6,500 entries that were submitted from 28 different countries, Chesterfield was recognized as:
“We are so extremely honored to have our work recognized,” said director Susan Pollard. “These awards speak to the high-quality industry standards we hold ourselves up to and the talent we have in our department, but also to the trust bestowed upon us by the residents of Chesterfield to tell their stories and serve this wonderful community.”
Sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals that honors the messengers and creators of the information revolution. Each year, competition judges evaluate the creative industry’s best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, and advertising, marketing, and communication programs.
Established in 1995, AMCP is one of the largest and oldest, third-party evaluators of creative work in the world. As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable endeavors.
Entries are judged using the industry best standards and not directly compared to other entries. Work is judged on creativity and the judge’s perception of what each entrant had to work with. There can be multiple winners or no winners in any given category. Utilizing a consensus judging system, the judges verbalize their criticisms, compliments, etc., and then agree on a score. Other winners in the categories in which Chesterfield received awards included UNICEF, AARP, Pacific Life, and J.P. Morgan.
