CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Extension Demonstration Garden showcases a variety of landscape and horticultural methods that can be implemented by Chesterfield County residents.
The garden consists of a shade garden, cut flower garden, pollinator and native plant beds, a meadow, raised beds, vegetable production and more.
The Master Gardeners invite you to join them in the garden on the first Saturdays of the month May through October, and on July 9. During the hours of 9:30 -11:30 a.m. Master Gardeners will be in each section to speak with those interested and answer questions.
The Extension Demo Garden is located outside of the Extension office and Central Library at 9501 Lori Road near the chicken coop and beehive.
There will also be themed demonstrations for each Saturday:
- May 7 - Container Gardening
- June 4 - Composting and Vermiculture
- July 9 - Planning Fall Garden
- Aug. 6 - Garden Pests
- Sept. 3 - Building Soils
- Oct. 1 - Cover Crops and Winterization
