CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police continue to investigate a shooting that occurred in the 10800 block of Midlothian Turnpike on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.
At about 4:27 p.m. on Dec. 31, police said, the victim was traveling in the 10800 block of Midlothian Turnpike when a silver vehicle pulled alongside the passenger side and the driver fired a single shot, striking the victim's car. The driver of the silver vehicle was described as a Black male and was last seen heading west on Midlothian Turnpike toward Chesterfield Towne Center. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries; he remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to the shooting. Surveillance cameras in the area captured images of the silver vehicle, which appears to be a 2019 Honda Civic with black rims.
