Jan. 6, 2022
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Second-term supervisors Christopher M. Winslow and Leslie A.T. Haley were elected chair and vice chair of the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors during the board’s annual organizational meeting Wednesday evening.
Winslow, who served as vice chair last year, assumes the role of board chair for the first time. Haley previously was chosen vice chair in 2017 and 2018, then served as chair in 2019 and 2020. Their leadership terms run through the end of 2022.
Winslow and Haley were initially elected to the Board of Supervisors, representing the Clover Hill and Midlothian magisterial districts, respectively, in 2015. Both won re-election in 2019.
Winslow has been active in Chesterfield community affairs since 2007, including a stint on the Committee on the Future, a citizen advisory board charged with studying a variety of long-range issues facing the county and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
He is also a past president of the Midlothian Rotary Club.
Haley has a more than 20-year record of engagement in the Chesterfield community. She is a past president of the Chesterfield County Council PTA, a member of the board of directors of Substance Abuse Free Environment (SAFE) and worked on school bond referendum committees in 2004 and 2013.
Also at its organizational meeting, the board approved its 2022 meeting schedule. Unless otherwise specified, afternoon work sessions and evening meetings are held in the Chesterfield County Public Meeting Room, 10001 Iron Bridge Road. Sessions typically begin at 2 p.m., break at 5 p.m. for dinner, and then resume at 6 p.m. unless otherwise specified.
