CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police will conduct a traffic enforcement operation in the Chester and Enon area next week.
From Oct. 31 through Nov. 6, additional officers will patrol the area, focusing on pedestrian safety, speeding, reckless driving, red-light running, impaired driving and mobile device use while driving. Officers will patrol Route 10 and Route 1, along with several connecting roads, including Chester Road, Harrowgate Road, Curtis Street, Osborne Road, Rivers Bend Boulevard and others.
Since Oct. 1, 2020, police have investigated four fatal motor vehicle crashes in the Chester/Enon area. Speed, alcohol, lack of seatbelt use and distracted driving continue to be factors in these crashes. As always, police encourage all motorists to buckle up and drive safely and all pedestrians to be visible to drivers, wear reflective clothing, carry a flashlight and cross the roadway in well-lit areas.
