CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — TopWorkplaces.com has included Chesterfield among its honorees for its October 2021 national awards. The county was chosen among the top five in the website’s Top Workplaces for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Practices.
For companies and organizations with a workforce greater than 2,500, Chesterfield ranked fourth on the awards list.
“A commitment shared throughout all levels of the organization, these Top Workplaces prioritize a welcoming and inclusive culture, no matter one’s background,” according to the site.
“Employers who engage in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives understand it is a journey, not a destination,” said Mary Martin Selby, director of Chesterfield County Human Resources. “DE&I work has been a consistent part of Chesterfield’s fabric since the early 1990s. It is nice to see our dedication recognized on a national stage.”
Chesterfield was one of just two Virginia organizations to make the list, along with Fairfax-based CGI, and the only governmental agency to be included. This award comes on the heels of last month’s recognition by Forbes Magazine, which included Chesterfield as one of the top in-state employers.
Top Workplaces awards businesses and organization in four categories, including not only DE&I but also Employee Well Being, Professional Development and Remote Work.
