Sept. 22, 2021
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Something exciting is coming Wednesday, Sept. 22!
Chesterfield Behind the Mic, a new audio and video podcast from the county’s Department of Communications and Media, will cover all kinds of stories in and throughout Chesterfield. The podcast will feature guests from all walks of life and all corners of the county.
The vision for the podcast is to share information residents need to know, some stories they may never have heard about, and give them a chance to learn more about what’s happening in their community.
“We are thrilled to be launching Chesterfield’s very own video podcast,” said Susan Pollard, director of Chesterfield Communications and Media. “Our department has always used a broad mix of communication tools to reach residents and now starting a video podcast changes the dynamic. This medium allows us to have conversations about what’s happening in the community, creating a more intimate and one-on-one relationship with our listeners and viewers. We will spotlight stories throughout Chesterfield and bring an element of realness on the issues facing the community by speaking directly to our residents."
Starting with the first episode on Sept. 22, video and audio versions of Chesterfield Behind the Mic will be posted to the county website as well as all other popular podcast outlets like YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and much more. Also, starting Thursday, Sept. 23, the video podcast may be seen on Chesterfield’s community television station at 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. The community television station is on Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 28 or watch live on Chesterfield’s YouTube channel at YouTube.com/ChesterfieldCountyVA.
