CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred at Bensley Park at about 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
On Tuesday, Sept. 7, police responded to Bensley Park, located at 2900 Drewrys Bluff Road, for a report that an adult female had been sexually assaulted by an unknown male. The victim reported that she was walking on a paved path around the park's soccer fields when an unknown male approached her from behind and grabbed her inappropriately over her clothing. When the victim pulled away from the suspect, he threw her to the ground and ran down the path and into a wooded area that leads to a nearby apartment complex. The victim, who was later transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, ran to the nearby rec center for help and police were called.
The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up and pulled tight around his face. He was also wearing sunglasses.
