CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Do you know someone living in Chesterfield County who will be 100 years of age or older this year? The Chesterfield County Department of Citizen Information and Resources’ Office of Aging and Disability Services is seeking centenarians to recognize and honor.

If we have honored or recognized a centenarian before, we want to continue to acknowledge their centenarian status as each year over the age of 100 is a remarkable milestone

Centenarians interested in being honored are asked to share details of their lives, distinctive experiences and achievements by choosing one of three options to be recognized.

The three ways a centenarian can be recognized are:

  • Option 1: Certificate only
  • Option 2: Certificate, photo, social media and BOS recognition during birth month
  • Option 3: Certificate, photo, social media and BOS recognition during birth month and special recognition during “Centenarian Day” presentation at September Board of Supervisors meeting

If choosing option two, the Centenarian Recognition Online Request form must be filled out and submitted 45 days in advance of the honoree’s birthday.

If choosing option three, the Centenarian will be included in the Sept. 22 Board of Supervisors “Centenarian Day” presentation and requires both Centenarian Online Recognition Certificate Request Form and Centenarian Social History Questionnaire be submitted by July 30, 2021

The Centenarian social history questionnaire can be downloaded, completed and submitted to the Office of Aging & Disability Services via email or mail:

Attention: Centenarian Program

For option two and three, please attach two photos, one current and one younger, if possible, preferably head and shoulder images. The honoree will also have the ability to opt-in or opt-out of social media recognition on the Aging and Disability Services and County Facebook pages by completing the social media release option that is included in the Centenarian Recognition Certificate Request form

A special recognition for local centenarians will occur at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. Details for online or televised viewing will be provided prior to the meeting.
