The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department has unveiled a new StoryMap application highlighting sites that provide public access to water for recreational use. The web application offers park maps, addresses, driving directions, boat and fishing access points, water safety information, and photos.

This new application was developed in-house by the department’s GIS Specialist in collaboration with Outdoor Recreation program staff. The Public Water Recreation Access StoryMap can be accessed via computer, tablet, or phone at

The department also released a trails web application in October 2020 that contains information on 28 sites in the county’s park system.
