CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office, Substance Abuse Free Environment (SAFE), Chesterfield Emergency Response Team (CERT) and John Tyler Community College, will help community members safely dispose of expired and unneeded medications on Saturday, April 24.
The police department will host the Medication Take-Back on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John Tyler Community College – Chester Campus at 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway. Chesterfield Police officers, Chesterfield Sheriff's deputies and volunteers will be on hand to collect unused or expired prescription, over-the-counter and veterinary medications. Residents should leave medications in their original containers. Needles, syringes and other "sharps" will not be accepted.
Turning in expired and unused medications helps prevent medication abuse and protects the environment.
