CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have released the identities of the men charged in relation to a larceny from auto and subsequent shooting that occurred in the 5700 block of Willowbranch Drive at about 10:40 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6.
On Aug. 6, police were called to the 5700 block of Willowbranch Drive for a report that multiple shots had been fired. When police arrived, a man said he had just confronted two males who had entered a vehicle on his property. The man said he had chased the males and fired his handgun while in pursuit. One of the rounds struck a home in the 7400 block of Summertree Drive. No one was injured.
Further investigation indicated that only one of the two males had entered vehicles in the neighborhood. That male, Yamil G. Perez, 18, of the 5200 block of Appleleaf Court, was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful entry of a vehicle and one count of petit larceny.
Police obtained and served a releasable warrant for DaJohn L. Williams, 24, of the 5700 block of Willowbranch Drive, for reckless handling of a firearm.
