CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested a suspect in relation to a shooting that occurred at the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Johnston Willis Drive.
At about 11:29 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, police responded to a report of a shooting into a motor vehicle. The victim was later transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police have arrested Michael Leonard Dabney, 37, in relation to the shooting. Dabney, of the 2900 block of Clearfield Street in Richmond, has been charged with malicious wounding, attempted second-degree murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a weapon in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation indicates that the victim and Dabney are known to each other. Dabney is being held with no bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
