CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The driver involved in a fatal crash that occurred in the 4200 block of Meadowdale Boulevard on Sunday, Aug. 16, has been charged with DUI - involuntary manslaughter.
Police said a 2008 Honda Civic was traveling west on Meadowdale Boulevard at about 2 a.m. when it ran a red light and struck a 2012 Toyota Scion TC that was traveling south on Hopkins Road. The driver of the Toyota, Justus M. Taylor, 20, of the 9000 block of Chester Forest Court, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Honda, Francisco J. Beltran Perez, 20, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Beltran Perez, of the 6300 block of Amasis Court, was issued summonses for driving under the influence and no operators license.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, Beltran Perez was served with warrants for DUI - involuntary manslaughter, unlawful possession of alcohol and disregarding a traffic light. He was arrested and is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail.
