Mental Health Support Services
March 20, 2020
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — As the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, forces residents to adopt several social distancing measures, the Chesterfield County Department of Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) remains operational for residents seeking its assistance.
Out of an abundance of caution, MHSS offices will be inaccessible to the public except by emergency appointment only from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Regular client appointments are being conducted by telephone or through tele-health options.
The division has several staff members working in the office and remotely to assist county residents.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling the agency’s main number at 804-748-1227.
Individuals experiencing a psychiatric emergency should call the Crisis Line at 804-748-6356, where crisis services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Additionally, ways to balance stress and find mental brevity during these unprecedented times can be found on the Chesterfield County’s Prevention Services Facebook page. Check back regularly as more tip and ideas will be posted.
