County Jail Response to COVID 19

The Chesterfield County Jail has implemented the following measures to minimize the risk of exposure and transmission of pandemic viruses:

  • Stopped entry of all volunteers and facilitators until further notice.
  • Taking baseline temperatures for all new inmate committals and contractors who enter the facility.
  • Asking a baseline questionnaire to all new inmate committals and contractors before granting entry.
  • Identified isolation areas within the jail for any new inmate committals who have a temperature of 100.4 or greater.
  • Encouraging all employees to wear gloves when handling paperwork.
  • Continuous disinfecting of all areas throughout the jail.
  • Video visits can be done through the internet directly from your personal phone or laptop while at home.

Please keep yourselves safe by following all CDC recommendations regarding COVID-19. We will regularly update this website and our Facebook page as we receive additional information.
