CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police are excited to announce that the Bensley subdivision has become the third Chesterfield neighborhood to safeguard its property using SmartWater CSI.
Bensley joins the Bayhill Pointe and Mason Woods subdivisions, which in 2018 became the first two areas in Chesterfield to embrace this technology. All three participating subdivisions have signage indicating their homes are protected by SmartWater CSI.
SmartWater CSI is a colorless liquid that contains a unique code that is registered to a particular user. The liquid is invisible to the naked eye and is visible only under a unique light available to law enforcement through SmartWater CSI.
Chesterfield County Police are researching various ways to covertly use SmartWater CSI. Covert delivery systems would invisibly mark criminals who have committed crimes such as larceny from auto, burglary and trespassing throughout the county.
SmartWater CSI marks your property for a minimum of five years. If you would like to work with Chesterfield County Police to bring this product to your neighborhood, please contact the Community Services Division at 804-318-8699.
