CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred in the 9600 block of Midlothian Turnpike at about 6:24 p.m. on Sunday, November 17.
Police said the driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt was driving east on Midlothian Turnpike when he ran off the right side of the roadway. While travelling through the grass, the driver struck a fire hydrant and two parked vehicles before stopping. The driver was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Two additional occupants of the vehicle were treated and released at the scene.
The driver's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police continue their investigation into this incident.
