Celebrate Earth Day by Cleaning Up Chesterfield April 18-24

Sunday, April 18, 2021

In celebration of Earth Day 2021 and National Volunteer Week on April 18-24, Chesterfield County invites residents, groups, organizations and businesses to register to volunteer for a COVID-friendly trash clean-up at five locations around the county. Clean-ups will occur all week, Sunday, April 18 through Saturday, April 24. Individual families or small groups are encouraged to register. To participate in an Earth Day clean-up event, you must register by contacting Lorne Field, environmental outreach coordinator, at 804-748-1920. The last day to register is Thursday, April 22.

The Chesterfield County Environmental Engineering and Parks and Recreation departments will provide pre-registered volunteers with supplies like gloves and trash bags. Participants can also bring their own supplies. Volunteers can request to clean-up litter at one of five designated areas:

  • Falling Creek Ironworks Park, 6407 Jefferson Davis Hwy
  • Historic Point of Rocks, by appointment only
  • Dutch Gap Conservation Area, 341 Henricus Park Road
  • River City Sportsplex, 13030 Genito Road
  • Mid-Lothian Mines Park, 13301 N Woolridge Road
