Day On, Not a Day Off

The birthday of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. is on Jan. 15; however, it is observed on the third Monday in January as a federal holiday. For 2023, Monday, Jan. 16 is recognized as a federal and county holiday.

In honor of King’s legacy, Chesterfield County, Virginia State University and HandsOn Greater Richmond (part of the Community Foundation) hosted a "Day On, Not a Day Off" of service.
