Services provided by the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office are by appointment only Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Walk-ins are not permitted, however, same day appointments are available most days.
Vehicle titles: Original (with or without liens), substitute and replacement titles, title maintenance (change information on title records)
Vehicle registrations: Original registrations, renewals, transfers, re-issues and surrendering plates
Dealer title and registration (excluding online dealers)
License plates: Specialty and personalized plate orders
Permits and placards: Handicapped parking placards, overload and trip permits
Requests for driver transcripts: Vehicle and driver
Voter registration applications
Returned checks (Full payments only)
Address changes not involving issuance of driver’s license or ID card
Issue new E-ZPass On-the-Go transponders (to return broken transponders, learn more on the DMV website)
DMV Select does not process online or franchise dealership work or any vital record transactions. Our office cannot issue driver’s licenses or conduct driver's license tests. Contact a Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) branch for those services.
Be prepared for your appointment by bringing the necessary documents to complete your transaction, which are listed on the DMV website. Documents that provide proof of address, power of attorney and death certificates must be originals.
DMV Select is closed on state and county holidays.
