- Powhite Parkway Extension
Design is underway to develop plans for Phase 1: an extension of Powhite Parkway to Woolridge Road. Interchanges are proposed at Charter Colony and Woolridge Road, with overpasses proposed at Brandermill Parkway and Watermill Parkway.
A conceptual overview of the corridor for the full extension of Powhite Park to Route 360 (Hull Street) can be viewed at the links below. No improvements beyond Phase 1 are planned at this time.
The graphics depict Chesterfield County’s conceptual plans for Phase I and Phase II of the Powhite Parkway Extension. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has initiated a review of the project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and will analyze reasonable alternatives for the Phase II portion of the project. The county’s design does not reflect a final location of the Powhite Parkway extension. The final alignment for Phase II will be determined through agency and public input as well as engineering analyses and environmental studies as part of the NEPA process. A link to the VDOT study website will be provided here in the coming months. Email Email Heather Staton with questions.
Traffic impacts are to be determined.
Survey and related field efforts began Summer 2021 and will continue. Traffic analysis began Fall 2021.
