To determine an animal's success in adoption the shelter's staff utilizes the:

• Asilomar Accords, which are guiding principles for sheltered dogs and cats.
• Pet Evaluation Matrix, which provides a scoring for the physical and behavioral health of the sheltered dog or cat.
