Route One Corridor

The Route One corridor reflects Chesterfield County’s diversity with its unique blend of housing, history and small businesses. It stretches approximately 13 miles, from the county’s northern border with the City of Richmond all the way to its southern border with the City of Colonial Heights. The Route One corridor is also Chesterfield’s most internationally diverse corridor.

  • Bensley Park - Improvements include:
    • Field renovations
    • Paving
  • Dutch Gap Conservation Park - Improvements include:
    • Construction of a new storage building for the kayak program
    • Office and changing room
    • Porta-pottie structure
  • Falling Creek Ironworks - Improvements include:
    • Conduct an archeological survey of creek and surrounding areas
    • Engineering the move of a historical cottage from Moore's Lake Resort on Route One
    • New turf, lighting and irrigation to the park field (in consideration)
    • Vistas will be cleared
  • Henricus Historical Park - Improvements include:
    • Reconstruction of palisade fencing between guard towers at the front gate
  • Route One Shared-Use Path (Marina Drive to Eilliham Avenue) - Improvements include:
    • Preliminary plans are being developed to construct bike and pedestrian improvements along northbound Route One from Marina Drive to Elliham Avenue
