Police Service Aide

About this Position

The Police Service Aide position is a great opportunity for aspiring Chesterfield County Police Officers. Duties include responding to calls for service that are not in-progress, conduct victim and witness interviews, process evidence, prepare detailed police reports, interact with community members and perform other duties in a field assignment as assigned as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible, you must: 

  • Have a high school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia driver’s license
  • No marijuana use within twelve months prior to application date
  • Binocular vision of 20/25 corrected
  • No conviction of felonies and/or habitual misdemeanors 
  • No conviction of, or guilty plea or no contest plea to: misdemeanor sex offense, or any domestic assault
  • Pass an extensive background investigation, which includes a polygraph, psychological, medical and drug screening


This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $33,441 annually.
