A shared-use path will be constructed along northbound Route 1 from Dundas Road to Elliham Avenue. The project will include the installation of pedestrian signals at Dundas Road and Marina Drive. A virtual design public hearing was held on March 18, 2021.
Route 1 will be open to traffic at all times. A lane closure during off-peak hours will be necessary during construction.
Design of the project is being revised for a wider trail. Right-of-way acquisition is on hold until design revisions are complete, and construction is anticipated to begin summer of 2025.
