Citizen Academies

Citizen academies enable residents of a community to become more familiar with the day-to-day operations of the departments and agencies of their local government. These academies provide experiences to better understand the procedures, responsibilities, guidelines, policies and laws that guide decision-making.

Citizens Fire Academy

Citizens Fire Academy gives a unique insight into what it is like to be a firefighter. Each session will provide participants with information about fire department operations and how they can become citizen firefighters.

Citizen Police Academies

The Chesterfield County Police Department offer three citizen police academies: Citizens, Hispanic Community and Teen Citizens. Chesterfield County residents have the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of police practices and procedures.

Government Citizens Academy

Government Citizens Academy allows Chesterfield residents to learn about their local government through interactive sessions and optional tours of facilities. Participants receive a comprehensive look at the how and the why of local government programs.

My Chesterfield Academy

In partnership with the Asian and Latino Solidarity Alliance of Central Virginia (ALSACV), My Chesterfield Academy empowers residents, particularly those from multicultural communities, to understand and navigate Chesterfield County's government, as well connect to other community resources.
