Information Systems Technology (IST) provides information technology services to county departments, school board departments and constitutional officers in support of the county's strategic goals, sub goals and objectives.
The primary functions of the department are:

Chesterfield County's Department of Information Systems Technology and the Chesterfield County Public Library have launched a new service called Citizen Wi-Fi. The service enables library users and people visiting other county buildings to access the Internet through their own wireless-enabled devices, such as laptops and PDAs.
The Federal Government requires agencies and individuals with access to Criminal Justice Information to review material and sign agreements.
Geographic Information Services Team's mission is to maintain and enhance the Chesterfield County Geographic Information System (GIS) so as to provide accurate, timely, current and cost effective information to County agencies and the public and to provide accurate, up-to-date map products.
