Chesterfield County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit Number VA0088609 (PDF) was reissued to the county on December 17, 2014. The purpose of the permit is to authorize the discharge of stormwater from the MS4 and require the implementation of programs which manage stormwater and reduce the discharge of pollutants to surface waters.
A component of the county’s permit, the Chesapeake Bay Special Condition, requires the development of a Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily (TMDL) Action Plan (PDF). This Plan provides framework for Chesterfield County’s efforts to reduce discharges of nutrients and sediment from MS4 sources.
Chesterfield County encourages residents to review the Plan and offer comments. When submitting comments, please indicate in the subject line “Chesapeake Bay TMDL Action Plan” and include your name and any organizational affiliation name.
