Comments: The Virginia Commonwealth ChalleNGe Program is a 22 week residential program that is structured in a military style environment to promote academics, attention to detail, time management, and leadership, while promoting self esteem, confidence and pride.
Eligibility: Be a United States citizen or legal resident and a resident of Virginia. A high school drop-out or at risk of dropping out (behind in credits, truancy, etc.) Drug Free: Students will be drug tested. No felony convictions/charges, awaiting trial, or currently in trial proceedings. Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of completing the program. Volunteer to attend...... this is not an alternative sentencing program. Committed to making a change in their life.
Fees: No The Virginia ChalleNGe Academy is funded through the Federal and State governments. Tuition, room and board, and books are provided with no cost to the family. There is a minimal clothing requirement (underwear, shoes, personal items, etc.) and a list will be given out at the Pre-screening detailing what they will need to bring.
