Leslie Haley was re-elected as the Midlothian District Supervisor in November 2019 and began her second term of four years on January 1, 2020. She was elected as the Board’s Vice Chair in 2017 and 2018. She was elected as the Board’s Chair in 2019 and 2020.
Ms. Haley has been active in community and school affairs in Chesterfield County since 1999. She has served as recent president of the Midlothian High School PTSO, past president of the Chesterfield County Council of PTA / PTSAs, a board member of SAFE (Substance Abuse Free Environment) since 2008, and on the 2013 School Bond Referendum Committee. She worked with the 2004 Bond Referendum Committee and has organized and led many community-based efforts such as the Citizen’s Standardized Testing Forum to address the many concerns with standardized testing. She most recently served on the Citizen’s Budget Committee for Chesterfield Schools. In addition, she serves as Trustee of the Beth William’s Foundation, which partnered with the Village of Midlothian Volunteer Coalition and the Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation to refurbish the old Watkins Annex field in the Village of Midlothian.
Ms. Haley holds a degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University and a law degree from the West Virginia University School of Law. She has practiced law in the Richmond area for over 20 years having had private practice experience in diverse areas and then joining the Virginia State Bar and serving 14 years as Senior Assistant Ethics Counsel, where she counseled and wrote hundreds of opinions and articles regarding a lawyer’s obligations and responsibilities pursuant to their Rules of Professional Conduct.
Ms. Haley is currently a partner in Park Haley LLP, where she continues her practice of providing professional responsibility representation to lawyers and law firms. She is currently an adjunct professor teaching Professional Responsibility and also Legal Skills at William and Mary School of Law. She is humbled to acknowledge that professionally she was a recipient of the "Most Influential Women of Virginia" award in 2010 by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
Ms. Haley has served as president of the Walton Lake Homeowners’ Association and has served as Trustee and Church Council Chair at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals and is a past-president of the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation whose mission it is to strive to meet the unmet legal-justice needs in our community.
Ms. Haley and her husband Joe live in Walton Lake. They have two children, Reagan and Alex. Reagan is a graduate of James Madison University, and Alex is pursuing a degree in Architecture at Virginia Tech.
