Development, Incentives and Revitalization

The Department of Community Enhancement connects the county and our community partners to achieve effective revitalization. Older communities and commercial areas face normal challenges that come with age. These areas need continued maintenance and reinvestment. Revitalization helps maintain the vitality and high quality of life of our older communities countywide.

Revitalization Resources

Blueprint Chesterfield
Chesterfield has a strategic plan that provides the blueprint to achieve excellence in all areas and provide a first-choice community.

Economic Development
Economic Development provides information regarding a wide variety of incentive programs that are available to companies located in or expanding in Chesterfield County.

Planning
In collaboration with Planning, Community Enhancement staff participate in the comprehensive plan process, focusing on strategies and initiatives to help bring new life to aging communities countywide; the zoning process, to encourage new development and redevelopment that represents a significant improvement in areas needing revitalization; and the plans review process for new and renovated county public facilities, such as schools, fire stations and libraries.

Revitalize Our Communities Committee
The Revitalize Our Communities Committee (ROCC) is a volunteer citizens committee seeking to maintain and improve existing communities countywide. The committee is composed of representatives of business associations, real estate professionals, homeowner associations, community associations, churches and citizen leaders and seeks to provide tools that empower communities to sustain, revitalize and advocate for neighborhood needs.
