Chapters open for July comment period

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Two draft chapters of the Chesterfield County Comprehensive Plan, about business development and revitalization strategy, are currently open for public comment.

Residents are encouraged to comment online on draft chapters of the Chesterfield County Comprehensive Plan as it is being updated throughout the summer, to aid planners throughout the process. Stay informed on the process, and leave comments, at www.chesterfield.gov/compplanupdate.

The Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2012. The Chesterfield County Planning Commission is reviewing the plan and updating it to meet the needs of the county into the future. Residents will have the opportunity to comment on specific draft chapters which are released monthly. Comments made online will be presented to the commission and posted online, and may be incorporated into the revised chapters.

After the entire document has been reviewed by the commission, the planning department will hold a series of public meetings to meet with residents and get the community’s thoughts about the updated Comprehensive Plan in its entirety.
