Deadline Extended for County’s Summer Internship Program

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA —The deadline for college students to apply for Chesterfield County’s Summer Internship Program has been extended to Friday, Feb. 24. This annual summer internship program provides students with a unique opportunity to learn and expand their knowledge in how local government operates. The program is a 10-week unpaid internship that enables students to get college credit and valuable work experience, while serving the community. Students are assigned a county department, and also learn about the mission and vision of the county, and experience networking and professional development opportunities.

The internship program will be held from May 22-July 26. Successful candidates will be notified of their selection by April 15. To be considered for the Internship Program, students must be enrolled as an undergraduate junior, senior, or in a graduate program, and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.8. Students participating in the Internship Program must exhibit a genuine interest in learning about public administration and be committed to public service.
